When our patients are considering cosmetic dentistry procedures such as laser whitening or veneers, one of the first questions they have is “will my insurance pay for this procedure?”

Obviously, the answer to this question varies from patient to patient. It really all depends on their particular dental benefits plan. Unfortunately, a Healthcare Savings Account specifically disallows purely cosmetic dental procedures. However, many dental benefit plans do cover these procedures.

If we have their current insurance card on hand, we’re usually able to find the answer relatively quickly. We’re happy to do so, especially if concerns over billing and insurance have been holding a patient back from scheduling a procedure that will help them build confidence and achieve a brighter smile.

If not, your best bet is to contact your benefits administrator at work with the question. That’s often your personnel or human resources manager.

If you have any questions about the cost, or payment plans, associated with cosmetic dentistry, don’t hesitate to call our office. Our friendly, helpful staff will do all we can to help you find the answers you need.
